Class Audience
Designers and engineers who have basic simulation knowledge (Static Stress Analysis) will benefit the most from this class and people who are new to simulation will learn to start with the right techniques

Class Description
Simulation is a tool to predict physical phenomena. Although a physical phenomenon can be very complex in nature, for engineering applications it is often sufficient to consider a simplified model to get a good estimation of the real behavior. An acceptable estimation is the first step in identifying the optimal solution or tendency among a wide array of possible choices. The main challenge is to keep a balance between accuracy and the time required to set up and run a simulation. During this class, we will see different modeling techniques and simplification tools used in the industry to simplify the simulation model. These simplifications include exploiting symmetry, simplified representation of certain parts, and even 2D representation of the whole model. These tools are valid for most of the analysis types. Although those are general finite element analysis (FEA) techniques, we will discuss them in the context of Autodesk® Inventor® Professional, and particularly Autodesk Simulation (formerly Algor®).
